Community-Supported Agriculture
Temple Beth El Chosen as a Pick-Up Site for Golden Earthworm CSA!

The Golden Earthworm is a certified organic CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm on the East End of Long Island. They serve over 1500 member families across Long Island and Queens. In return for an annual membership fee to cover the production costs of the farm, CSA members receive a weekly share of the highest quality organically-grown harvest during the local growing season. When members obtain food from local farmers, they are directly supporting small, family farms in their community as well as receiving the freshest available produce.

A number of our congregants have joined the Golden Earthworm CSA for the 2010 season and have already received shares.  We even have enough members who have joined that we are able to donate a free share each week to a local soup kitchen!

CSA members, remember that YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR SHARE NO LATER THAN 8PM ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS. After 8PM, all remaining fruits and vegetables will be donated to a soup kitchen. There is a list of all participants so that you can arrange for someone else to pick up your share if necessary.

Please contact Florence Roffman at florence.roffman@gmail.com or at 631.754.6255 if you have questions.
